The main thing I remember about that debate was the sheer shock on the faces of the panel members who clearly had no idea that Cleese and Palin were highly educated and articulate men who were able to put forward intellectual arguments to defend their position, they were obviously expecting a pair of idiot comedians.

Wow! Who cares about her accent? She is amazing. One or two episodes should be all it takes even for the most ignorant of people to adjust to the accent.

Helena Bonham Carter's epic win at the International Emmys suggests that probably a full-blown cinematic movie on Enid Blyton could be around the corner. Incidentally, Helena Bonham Carter's TV movie was released only two months after the publication of my book, The Famous Five: A Personal Anecdotage (www.thefamousfiveapersonalanecdotage.blogspot.com) which deals a lot on America's rather caustic love-hate relationship with America. regardless, since the Emmys are on the whole American-Oriented, it is hoped that her win may catch the attention of some Hollywood magnetics that could go on to screen a fully-fledged cinematic movie on Enid Blyton just as was the case with the Beatrix Potter movie that also started out as a BBC TV bipoic.
